Staff is rude, not helpful and racist. Really noisy rooms, every single noise from the street comes in. Not possible to use the kitchen. No cleaning of the rooms even if you stay for a week. They don't like you to ask to go and clean the room. No family friendly. A pain in the ass to do the check in. If you don't have a phone and arrivenafter office hours you're screwed. Was such a bad experibce that i moved to a nearby hotel after 3 days. Worst nightmare ever, in 100+ hotel stays in 20+ countries. Have had better experience in the Nicaraguan countrysides b&b than this. Avoid this place especially if you travel with family!

No elevator (4th floor with luggage is quite a work-out). Noisy hall and staircase, can hear pounding foot steps, crashing luggage up the stairs, and doors slamming, keys jingling, etc.) In front of tram track (I'm used to that, but some might not be) No one there at check-in, we had to call (from foreign phone) several times, making the low price irrelevant. Kitchen, but NO cooking utensils! You have to call and ask, then put down a 20 euro deposit to get anything to cook with. Again, if you have a foreign phone, this is a waste of money. Wi-fi is free, but complicated to sign in, and again, you have to call for the password! Why not just have it available in the info book in the room? Wi-fi in Germany is very complicated. Far from palace and main attractions. Karlsruhe is under construction (as of June 2014). Very difficult to get in, around, and out, and the palace is buried in cranes and scaffolding. Don't bother going as a tourist. If you must stay here, Aijana is cheap, safe, clean, has a fridge, and very close to the train station, so I can recommend it if you're in a pinch. For clueless tourists (like myself) Go to Ulm, Speyer, Heidelberg or Stuttgart instead!
