Alpirsbacher Notations Workshop is an association and weekend for the performance and research of early music from original sources, in the heart of the Black Forest. We seek to bring together amateur, student and professional musicians for the purpose of exploring new composers, sources, traditions and ideas within historical performance practice. After a successful first year focusing on the German Renaissance from Issac to Praetorius, Edition II: Women in Early Music moves the workshop into its exciting second year. ANW is sponsored by the church and musical community of St. Benedikt in Kloster Alpirsbach, graciously providing rehearsal and performance spaces each year.
