"Change the Power - (Em)Power to Change: Local Authorities towards the SDGs and Climate Justice" is a EU funded project working with Local Authorities and CSO in Europe and the Amazon region.

Geschichte
Climate Alliance will work together with 16 partners from 10 different European countries on the project "EYD2015: The future we want - Local Authorities for Sustainable Development" from January 2015 to December 2018.
Informing and sensitizing decisions makers on local, national and European levels is crucial to achieving strategic political decisions for sustainable development because of their important role mentioned in the post-2015 UN Development Agenda. They are consumers and providers of services and goods, and they play an important role in the management and use of natural resources. As the level of governance closest to the people, they play a vital role in educating, mobilizing and responding to the public to promote sustainable development. Therefore, to enhance and mobilize greater political support of European LA and their citizens towards the post-2015 development agenda is an important goal of the project "EYD2015: The future we want".
The different actions of the project "EYD2015: The future we want" aim to raise public awareness on the importance of development cooperation while addressing the current challenges of (European) overconsumption of natural resources, particularly forests and forest products.
