WHITE PLATE ist ein internationales Foto- und Multimedia-Kunstprojekt

WHITE PLATE spielt in der Welt erlesener Genüsse, der feinen Küche und der Kulinarik. Die Exponate dieses Projekts lassen sich aber nicht verspeisen, denn sie erforschen den Mikrokosmos „Essen | Schmecken | Mensch“ in einem abstrakten Sinne.

Hinter WHITE PLATE stehen 14 deutsche und britische Sterne- bzw. Spitzenköche, die ihre Leidenschaft zu ihrem Metier künstlerisch ausleben. Ihre Ansätze sind dabei so grundverschieden, wie sie selbst, denn persönliche Handschrift, Biographie oder kulinarische Philosophie durchdringen jedes Exponat

Auch die Erscheinungsformen ihrer Kunstwerke sind so abwechslungsreich wie die Köche selbst: mittels Foto-, Video und 3D-Installationen machen sie unterschiedlichste Wege in die Welt der feinen Küche begehbar. So bringt WHITE PLATE einen 360 Grad-Parcours hervor mit einer Vielzahl spannender Perspektiven.

WHITE PLATE rückt neben der künstlerischen Auseinandersetzung gesellschaftlich relevante Themen wie die Ernährungsbildung für Kinder und Jugendliche, nachhaltiges Landwirtschaften und gesunde Ernährung mittels Ausstellung, Buch, Film & Dokumentation und Sonderveranstaltungen/Begleitprogramm in die Öffentlichkeit und regt zu kreativem und interdisziplinärem Gedankenaustausch an.

WHITE PLATE is an international photography & multimedia art project

WHITE PLATE takes place in a world full of exquisite indulgences, fine cuisine and culinary delights. But the project’s exhibits cannot be eaten, because they explore a microcosm of “Eating | Tasting | Human” in an abstract way.

14 German and British star and top chefs who live their passion for their field of work to their fullest artistic extent make up the people behind WHITE PLATE. Their approaches are entirely different from each other, just as their personalities are. Each exhibit is drenched with their personal character, biography or culinary philosophy.

Even the nature of their works of art is as varied as the chefs who prepared them: through the usage of photographic-, film- and 3D-installations, they open up new routes through the world of fine cuisine and make them accessible. This way WHITE PLATE manages to produce a 360-degrees-virtual tour with a multitude of exciting perspectives.

In addition to its artistic approaches, WHITE PLATE puts socially relevant topics into the spotlight such as nutritional education for children and young people, sustainable farming and healthy food through exhibitions, books, movies & documentaries and special events/accompanying programmes. It encourages a creative and interdisciplinary exchange of ideas.
