The European Association of Taiwan Studies is devoted to the promotion of Taiwan Studies and Research in Europe.

Geschichte

EATS is devoted to the promotion of Taiwan Studies and Research in Europe. This is achieved through the following activities:
1. Facilitating networking and increased collaboration between students and scholars conducting research and teaching in Taiwan Studies.
2. Encouraging the study of Taiwan in educational institutions throughout Europe.
3. Organizing an annual or biannual EATS conference and smaller workshops or seminars in the field of Taiwan studies.
4. Supporting young scholars in Europe, for example through the organization of PhD workshops or through the donation of grants for a limited period of time. The respective research results are made publicly available.
5. Publication of research presented at the EATS events or other publications in the field of Taiwan studies, especially publications of academic research results, maintenance of a website including a specific area for members (publications, information, forum).
