History / Fendt-Caravan
1970 The Fendt brothers buy the Lely-Dechentreiter factory in Asbach-Bäumenheim.
1975 Production of the alcove caravan “Große Fahrt” (grand tour), also called the “Nasenbär” (coati).
1982 Fendt is the first series producer to integrate the cylinder box into the front area of the caravan.
1988 Fendt adds camper vans to its product range. The alcove van 560 KH is produced.
1995 Fendt celebrates its 25th anniversary. For the first time, a six-year water-tightness warranty is given.
1997 The US American AGCO Corporation buys the complete Fendt group.
1998 The Fendt-Caravan division becomes the property of Hobby-Wohnwagenwerk Ing. Harald Striewski GmbH, Fockbeck. Product names are changed: Karat becomes Saphir, Joker becomes Platin.
The camper van range is discontinued.
1999 Ground-breaking ceremony takes place on October 15th in Mertingen.

2001 First Fendt-Caravan meet; the event has since taken place annually.
2001 The move to the new factory takes place on July 23rd.
2001 Production starts in the new factory on August 27th.

2001 On November 21st, the 100,000th caravan is built.
2002 Market launch of the “TOPAS” series.
2003 The company receives the German Camping Club (Deutscher Camping Club/DCC) safety prize.
2003 Production of hail protection roofs in 2 phases. Space for approx. 1,000 vehicles.
2004 First Fendt-Caravan city tour; the event has since taken place annually.
2004 Presentation of the “Diamant VIP”.
2006 Return to the camper van market with the “partially integrated” models (T 580, T 590 and T 595). The vehicles are produced in Giottiline, Italy.
2006 The company receives the LUPO, the industry award of the German Caravan Trade Association (Deutsches Caravaning Handels-Verband/DCHV); three first places and one second place are awarded by the readers of the trade publication “Caravaning”.
2007 Market launch of the “Bianco / Bianco Classico” series.
2008 Market introduction of compact camper vans (K 400 and K 500). The vehicles are produced in Fockbek.
2008 Two first places, two second places and one third place are awarded by the readers of the trade publication “Caravaning”.
2008 Market launch of the new TI models (TI 640, TI 680, TI 685, TI 690). All camper vans are produced at Hobby in Fockbek.
2009 The company receives the “König Kunde” (“King Customer”) award (overall ranking) from the trade publication “Camping, Cars & Caravans”.
2009 Presentation of the “Bianco Sportivo” at the Caravan Salon.
2009 The company receives the “JobErfolg” (“Job Success”) award.
Prize for the integration of disabled employees into the company.
2010 Axia award for Bavaria in the “Kundenbindungsmanagement” (customer retention management) category.
2010 Market launch of the limited edition anniversary model “Bianco Rosso 445 TF”.
2010 Market launch of the “Tendenza” model.
Market launch of the “Brilliant” series.
