I stayed here for business. It has city View and river view. The river view from deck was really great. Breakfast buffet spread included in room price is good. Restaurant service is excellent.

The hotel was very nice. The river-view room has switch operated blinds, so you don't have to pull the rope, and the view of the Rhine was very good. The front desk was great. The restroom however doesn't have shower doors (standard in Europe) and the hot breakfast was delicious. They have an outdoor porch with a lot of shopping stores nearby. They do accept Swiss Francs in the stores (bills only, no coins).

Not a great experience. 

I had 3 major issues with my stay:

1. I had to pay for a "suite" because all the other rooms were booked, which is fine (my fault for booking late), but when I arrived my room was COVERED in hundreds, maybe thousands, of small (dead) moth like bugs.  It looked as if the room had been vacant for some time with the window open and a light on. They "re-cleaned" the room but I am still finding these bugs everywhere. 

2. Then I went to take a shower and there was NO HOT WATER it was freezing cold. The sink had hot water but the shower doesn't. At this point I had been traveling for 30 hours and all I wanted to do was take a shower. The front desk sent a woman up who turned on the shower, verified it wasn't working then pointed to the bath tub (luckily there was a separate bath tub in the room) and walked out. They haven't even attempted to fix it or offer a different room.  (I wonder how many people have complained about it before me with the same result?). 

3. The WIFI just plain doesn't work. At all. 

All I want as a business traveler are a clean room, a hot shower and usable WIFI.  I dont feel like that is asking too much, but this hotel failed to check a single one of those  boxes. I wasnt offered an explanation, an apology or even a free drink at the bar for these issues. 

4. Not a major issue but the TV in the room didn't work. 

Some other notes for potential travelers:

There is no air conditioning and even though it was beautiful outside it is extremely hot in the room and the common spaces even with the windows open.  

My room (a suite) was actually quite large but the people in my group staying with me said the normal rooms are extremely small and they did not get the king/queen size beds they were promised when booking. 

Breakfast was ok, it was convenient and included in the price of the room, but not worth the rest of the aggravation.

I will stay elsewhere next time.

Room was very small but modern. Refrigerator heated up the tiny room significantly. Breakfast was very good.

Lays close to Rhein and a historcal bridge, very good rooms. Breakfast is okay. Very close to Swiss border, Just 15 min to BASF Kaisten.
