The most inspiring metaphor for saffron is “red gold”: it has always been linked to bright colours and luxury. Whether as an ingredient of precious perfumes, as a dye for select fabrics or a colorant for special dishes, saffron was a royal symbol of wealth and power, and to the present day it is especially valued as a noble spice indispensable for fine cuisine.

Conscious of this important tradition, Miasa saffron stands for the highest quality. We source our saffron from one of the most unspoiled locations in the world, the Khorasan region in northern Iran, along the historic Silk Road. This is one of the best regions in the world for sourcing saffron; the saffron threads grown here are of an unrivaled purity.
The excellence of Miasa saffron is confirmed by the deep crimson hue of the saffron stigmas and its incomparably intense aroma – two of the most important criteria in ascertaining the quality of saffron.

As well as aiming to provide a first-class product, at Miasa we also stress a sustainable production process and offer fair conditions to our partners. A good ratio of old to new plant bulbs and a careful cultivation of the soil using crop rotation not only ensure a plentiful harvest, but also respect nature and the demands of sustainability.
