Geschichte

Hi,

My name is Cathy and I am the owner of Schmusekind.de.
I am also the mother of 5 adorable children ranging from 3 to 17 years and the wife of a wonderfully supportive man who is my mentor and muse.

Having 5 children of my own, I am well acquainted with wonder and the absolute joy that comes with holding your baby for the first time. The moment that a parent meets that newly minted person is frozen in his or her mind like a snapshot. No moment is more life-changing or precious than this.

As a friend or family member, it is especially difficult to find the right gift for the new parents and baby because, by the time the baby arrives, the parents have pretty much bought everything already!

I have spent the last 17 years (first as a quilter) experimenting with fabric and fabric decoration. After spending countless happy hours making quilts for my children,and the children in my neighbourhood, I have come to realise that everybody yearns for something made especially for them. Something that no one else in the world has. Something that is a reflection of the things that they love and that is made with love and care.

People love soft, cuddly and unusual fabrics. They love colour and they love it best when they can choose it themselves.

I adore what I do. I spend many hours developing our new products and looking for the best quality, safest and softest supplies - from the thread we use to sew our hand-made products to the toys we offer to decorate our diaper cakes.
