The goals of CRISP-seminars in the field of conflict-transformation

Against the background of the actual situation in post-conflict-countries our seminars main goal is to achieve rapprochement of either party and to dispel the existing barriers of interaction. For this purpose much is needed: developing a shared vision for living together peacefully as well as decreasing the existing prejudices and slowly increasing mutual trust.

Insofar as simulation-games create a communication platform alike our seminars can provide an integral component for the democratic process in the region, as it allows experiencing the position of the other guaranteed by the simulation method. Mutually understanding the actual and perceived constraints of action eventually provides the necessary prerequisite to appreciate the other position.

Moreover, the seminars deliver general insights into the logics of action of state actors. And if civil society and its active members are to play a central role in creating a peaceful alliance such essential insights are indispensable.
