Geschichte

Welcome to the homepage of the Bayern's German Irish Society.

If you're Irish living here in Bayern, bayerisch with a love of the Irish.
or any shade of green, you've come to the right place.

The society tries to bring an Irishy feel to Munich, support a bit of banter between the Zuagroasten
and the locals and in formal speak "foster a spirit of mutual understanding between the Gaels and Teutons".
We also supports Clubs and Societies in Munich with a Irish connection.

What do we do?
The DIF set up the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Munich, Green Farm Festival and the world famous
Sendlingertor Carolchor, among a plethora of different initiatives - not to forget a Bloomsday celebration.

The greatest strength of the Verein is its members. Through the years we have have great musicians,
singers, dancers, hurlers, publicans, translators, clergy and cowboys and the Walking Women of Ireland: all bring
different talents and keep the Club going - you never know what's up next.
